With the FIFA World Cup 2022 kicking off next month it is a no-brainer that EA would take advantage of the event to host something unique in the latest FIFA 23 video game. However, EA has yet to announce a specific FIFA World Cup 2022 mode for the game yet but the cat is already out of the bag. EA has accidently leaked the World Cup mode for FIFA 23 ahead of its intended announcement.
It seems that EA added the mode to FIFA 23 in the latest update. The thing is, it wasn’t meant to be accessible just yet but players on PS5 managed to find ways to get into the menu system and fiddle around in the unreleased mode.

At the moment, there’s nothing you can really do with the FIFA World Cup mode in FIFA 23. While the menus are available, you can’t actually launch any games. The leaked mode does reveal what we can look forward to. By the look of things, it will include four game modes when it is released. There’s a FIFA World Cup Live mode which by the sound of things will let players simulate the live matches.
You’ll also get access to the FIFA World Cup Kick-Off, Online Tournament and another mode called FIFA World Cup 2022. The entire mode will launch with 48 teams which are 16 more than the real World Cup teams available in the tournament next month. At the moment it isn’t clear what the additional countries are. However, previously EA Games allowed players to include their own country in the World Cup mode.
EA has yet to announce the details regarding the FIFA World Cup 2022 mode in FIFA 23. The real-life tournament kicks off on 20 November so we’ll likely see it roll out around the same time. If you’re interested in accessing the mode before its announcement and release, watch the video down below.
