EA Currently Developing New Plants vs Zombies and Need for Speed Games

While EA has the much-anticipated Anthem releasing this month, the rest of the year seems a little dry for the publisher, however, they have a few things planned for 2019 that will please many gamers around the world. EA is currently developing a new Plants vs Zombies game as well as a new Need for Speed.

Revealed in an announcement to investors, EA’s CFO Blake Jorgenson announced that the games are currently in development and due out by April 2020.

“We’re making adjustments to improve execution and we’re refocusing R&D. Looking forward, we’re delighted to launch Anthem, our new IP, to grow Apex Legends and related Titanfall experiences, to deliver new Plants vs Zombies and Need for Speed titles, and to add Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to our sports titles in the fall.”

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 3 was leaked last year in an artbook sold on Amazon that revealed concept art for the unannounced game. The last game released in February of 2016 and Need for Speed Payback in November 2017 (to some harsh reviews) but that won’t stop EA from developing more.

EA is seeing great success from its recently released Apex Legends which hit over one million players within eight hours of launch. EA will no doubt continue to support the game in the coming months with new DLC and seasonal loot boxes. In terms of the future pipeline, it is nice to see a new Plants vs. Zombies game in the works. Now we just pray that it is not a new mobile game.
