EA Games Leaks Personal Details of 1,600 FIFA 20 Global Series Players

EA Games opened registration for the FIFA 20 Global Series yesterday in which resulted in a nasty leak of personal data through the company. Upon starting the registration process, players were asked to verify their account details but instead of showing the registering users their own information, EA showed them already-registered accounts.

The account screen showed emails, date of birth, EA ID and the country of residence of random players who signed up for the service.

EA Games claim to have taken down the registration page within 30 minutes of it going live and started an investigation in regards to the leaked information. They later confirmed that the issue has been resolved admitting to the breach of 1600 players’ information.

EA Games says they are slowly making contact with those players affected by this FIFA 20 data breach and they are confident that players will not see the issue again.
