Wild Hearts Hunting Game EA Koei Tecmo

EA Reveals ‘Wild Hearts’ Hunting Game from Koei Tecmo

EA has revealed Wild Hearts, a new hunting game from Koei Tecmo. Early reports indicated that EA and Koei Tecmo were collaborating on a new unannounced project, which we now know as Wild Hearts. Little information is known about the game, but we will see a full reveal take place on 28 September as the first trailer will be released.

“It’s an honour to be partnering with EA Originals and to have the support of a team with such an incredible track record of releasing ground-breaking new games,” said Yosuke Hayashi, executive VP of Koei Tecmo. “The EA team fully embraces our creative independence and have become invaluable partners offering both development and publishing support.”

Omega Force, the Koei Tecmo studio best known for the Dynasty Warriors series, will handle development on Wild Hearts.

Jeff Gamon, EA Partners GM, added:

“Building on the incredible success of EA Originals, which includes the recent releases of It Takes Two and Knockout City, we’re thrilled to be partnering with the amazingly talented Omega Force team. They’ve elevated the hunting genre to the next level, merging their proven talent for combat gameplay with unexpected and innovative mechanics. We can’t wait to introduce their groundbreaking new adventure to the world later this month.”

It’s unclear what a new “hunting game” from the team behind Dynasty Warriors entails, though some have suggested that it will compete with Capcom’s Monster Hunter series, which is technically a hunting game revolving around players tracking down and slaying various creatures in order to craft gear and weapons.

As revealed by the official Wild Hearts Twitter account, a reveal trailer is set to debut online tomorrow, 28 September, which will surely answer most of our questions.

In related news, Koei Tecmo will publish the upcoming Team Ninja action-RPG Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. A producer on the game recently spoke about the game’s lack of difficulty settings.
