EA Sports FC 24 Has Been More Popular Than FIFA 23 Says EA Games

Despite having a much slower retail launch in the UK, Electronic Arts claims that EA Sports FC 24 has been widely more popular than FIFA 23. The company says that EA Sports FC 24 has attracted more than 11.3 million players worldwide since its launch in late September which is higher than FIFA 23’s 10.3 million players in its first week.

EA says that FIFA 23 broke records as the most-played title in the series but EA Sports FC 24 is now officially more popular. Keep in mind that EA is counting its EA Play subscriber base in this total figure too. So we don’t know exactly how many copies of the game EA has sold and how many players simply tried the game out using their subscription.

EA says that even the new EA Sports FC Mobile game has grown with 2.2 million downloads on its release day. Following the launch of the mobile game, it has been downloaded 11.2 million times. EA Sports president Cam Weber said:

“We’re thrilled to have so many fans jumping into The World’s Game in both EA Sports FC 24 and FC Mobile in just the first few days since launch. In addition to welcoming back millions of our longtime players, new players in FC 24 are up nearly 20% year over year, showing the excitement of football fans everywhere to join the Club. We are building the world’s biggest football community through EA Sports FC, and we’re just getting started”

There was a lot riding on EA’s new football game given the 30-year partnership with FIFA ending back in 2022. While players have always known FIFA as the go-to football game, EA’s new series will now be the annual title. Of course, that is until FIFA makes its own new football game. The organization is reportedly working on something but little is known about the project at this point. It is expected to launch in 2024.

EA Sports FC 24 is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Switch.
