EA Electronic Arts Need for Speed Skate 4 FIFA 23 July

EA to Reveal New Need for Speed, FIFA and Skate Games in July – Report

Electronic Arts is going to have a very busy month ahead if recent reports are true. According to reliable leaker Tom Henderson, EA is planning to reveal Skate 4 in early July, with plans to announce a new FIFA and Need for Speed in the second half of the month too.

Writing on a recent Exputer article, Henderson claims that EA is gearing up to announce three new titles in July 2022. These include FIFA 23 (which will likely be the last branded FIFA game after breaking off from the publisher), the next Need for Speed title from Criterion and Skate 4, which was already revealed to be in development in 2020.

The first announcement will reportedly happen in early July and that will be for Skate 4, the long-awaited fourth entry in the Skate franchise. This will be followed by the next FIFA and Need for Speed announcements in late July.

Henderson echoed Jeff Grubb’s reports of the next Need for Speed being slightly different than previous entries. According to Grubb, the new game will “adopt a stylized aesthetic combining photorealistic graphics with anime elements.”

EA previously confirmed that it won’t be hosting its annual EA Play Live event in 2022, opting to reveal games sporadically across the year when they’re ready to be announced. The company already revealed Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the sequel to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order from Respawn Entertainment, which will arrive in 2023.

Additionally, EA Motive is hard at work on a remake of Visceral Games’ acclaimed survival horror game, Dead Space. BioWare recently revealed the official title for Dragon Age 4 to be Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, though the studio is also working on the next Mass Effect which is a few years off from release.

As with all rumours, take this with a pinch of salt as plans could still change at EA.
