EA announced the company plans on releasing a handful of new titles in 2020. Most of these will be cross-gen games. However, we don’t know what these games are yet. According to EA, users who purchase EA Games on PS4 and Xbox One will get upgraded to the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions for free.

EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said during EA’s earnings briefing at least some of the company’s titles will be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X through upgrades. With that being said, these upgrades will also be free.

We’ve made a preliminary estimate of that impact in the phasing. But it should be noted that this will not affect net bookings for the full year, nor cash flow, just the timing of recognition.”[/perfectpullquote]
EA will share more on this plan at a later date. As of now, we don’t know what the company has planned for its next-gen lineup. We will get a staple series of EA releases such as FIFA and a new shooter by the end of 2020. The company confirmed a new Battlefield game developed by DICE is also coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series X but not until 2021.
As of now, we are not sure what EA Games will release by the end of 2020 to support the next-gen consoles. Hopefully, with the upcoming Xbox 20/20 and Summer Game Fest events planned, gamers will get a glimpse of the lineup ahead. Not to mention, Sony has yet to touch on its next-gen PS5 lineup too.
