If you’re already playing Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League then you’re in luck. Rocksteady is giving all early access players R359 worth of in-game currency to apologise for the server downtime experienced on launch day.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League launched on 30 January into early access. The only way to get into the game early was to spend money on the expensive R1850 Deluxe Edition. However, following the game’s launch at midnight in New Zealand, Rocksteady Games was forced to pull down the game’s servers due to a bug which would auto-complete the story when you load up the game for the first time.
The downtime lasted over six hours. Rocksteady Games then worked on further server maintenance which lasted another hour. As a result, early access players who spent a premium on the game missed out a full seven hours of the 72-hour period.
To say sorry for the mess, RockSteady has now given all early-access players 2000 LuthorCoins. These coins are essentially the game’s premium currency which you can use to purchase skins and other vanity items from the in-game store. 2000 LuthorCoins costs R359 or $20 which is quite a hefty freebie.
In a statement, Rocksteady says:
“Thank you for being one of our first console players during early access of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. We recognize that you’ve been patient with us during our initial launch server updates and we’d like to show our appreciation for your patience with a special gift of 2000 LuthorCoins. Thank you again”
With these credits, players can purchase Deluxe and Legendary variants of most skins. Keep in mind that more skins will be available in the coming weeks and months as the game grows and more seasonal content arrives. So maybe don’t spend all your free money right now.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League launches on 2 February for everyone else. I have spent a good few hours in the game and it is fun so far. Its gunplay is especially tight and I won’t lie, the writing it excellent. I have found myself chuckling at all the inside jokes. The game also provides a great throwback to the original Arkham series within the first two hours of the story which is great to see.
GLITCHED wasn’t provided with a review code for Suicide Squad. WB Games claims the site didn’t fit into the publisher’s “excitement and positive” marketing plans. So I purchased the game myself. Expect a full review in the coming days.
