Elden Ring Colosseum Update New PvP Mode

Elden Ring Colosseum Update Introduces New PvP Mode

Elden Ring has received a new Colosseum Update which has been teased for some time now, ever since players discovered the mysterious closed-off arenas located around the map. The doors to those colosseums will now open, introducing a new PvP mode to the game that contains, duels, free-for-alls and team fights.

The Colosseum Update for Elden Ring unlocks the three massive colosseums located in Limgrave, Leyndell and Caelid. Fans originally believed that this would arrive as some form of DLC or expansion, but a free update doesn’t hurt either. Before the update, the only way one could’ve accessed these colosseums was by unofficially breaking the game’s camera and taking a peak inside (as seen in this video).

Developer From Software and publisher Bandai Namco has now officially opened the gates to each colosseum, allowing players to compete in a number of challenges against each other. The official press release reads:

“The Colosseums of Limgrave, Leyndell and Caelid will open their gates, allowing players to engage in battles such as duels, free-for-alls and team fights.”

The update is free for all owners of the game across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC and can be downloaded right now depending on your time zone. Rumours continue to surface about a much larger expansion for Elden Ring, though, which is believed to currently be in development and could be announced at The Game Awards this week.

Elden Ring was nominated for several awards at the event, including the coveted Game of the Year as well as Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Score/Music and much more. It will compete with God of War Ragnarok which is also another fan-favourite to take home the ultimate award of the night. You can read the full nomination list here.
