Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree New Bosses Launch Trailer

Elden Ring Dataminer Reveals True Faces of DLC Characters

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has a number of NPCs to converse with and even fight, though most of their faces are hidden behind masks or helmets. A popular dataminer has now revealed the full character models for each NPC in Shadow of the Erdtree without the masks and helmets, showing their true faces.

Elden Ring YouTuber and dataminer Zullie The Witch, who frequently covers content on From Software’s games, recently posted a new video showing the true faces of all the NPCs from Shadow of the Erdtree including Redmane Freyja, Needle Knight Leda, the Blackgoal Knight and others.

The Blackgoal Knight in particular, whose gear and weapons were clearly inspired by Guts from Berserk, seems to have an appearance somewhat resembling Guts too. It’s no secret that From Software and Hidetaka Miyazaki draw a lot of inspiration from the manga Berserk with Easter eggs and references dotted throughout the developer’s games including Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Elden Ring. It’s good to see a slightly more direct acknowledgement of the manga with the Blackgoal Knight.

On a stranger note, another Elden Ring dataminer named BonfireVN took a closer look at the Divine Beast Dancing Lion, one of the first major bosses you’ll likely face in Shadow of the Erdtree. It turns out that the boss is nothing more than two people sporting a pantomime horse-esque design, making up the body of the lion  – one in front and one arched for the back. Check it out below:

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is now available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
