Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has been out for a few weeks now and many players have already encountered – and hopefully defeated – the tough-as-nails final boss of the DLC. The lore surrounding this particular battle is quite interesting for those invested in Elden Ring’s storytelling. Some new cut dialogue for the boss has now surfaced.
Before we proceed, we’ll be talking extensively about the final boss of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree below. Take this as your spoiler warning in case you haven’t encountered the last battle of the DLC.
Players were surprised to discover that the final boss of Shadow of the Erdtree turned out to be Radahn, except there’s more to the fight than just a repeat battle from the base game. Radahn isn’t riding his trusty steed anymore. Instead, he has now become the consort to Miquella, who we’ve been pursuing the entire game. Miquella also joins in on the fight in the second phase.
Reddit user LaMi_1 recently uncovered some cut dialogue for Promised Consort Radahn, including:
- “I am Radahn.”
- “Born of red-maned Radagon, and Rennala of the Full Moon.”
- “A lion bred for battle.”
Why this dialogue was cut is anyone’s guess, though we have our own theories. Since Radahn is a character driven by his actions over words, we can’t imagine him boasting about being, well, himself during any fight. He doesn’t utter a single word during the base game and it makes sense that in the DLC, he doesn’t speak either considering he’s now completely subservient to Miquella. Either way, it would beat hearing “I am Radahn, Consort of Miquella” every time you died.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Make sure you check out our full review of the DLC right here.
