Elden Ring Gameplay Overview Trailer Arrives Before Launch

The Elden Ring gameplay overview trailer has arrived shortly before launch, promising an expansive journey into the mystical realm of The Lands Between. From Software and George R.R. Martin’s latest open-world action-RPG is scheduled to release later this week.

The overview trailer for Elden Ring explores the various biomes of The Lands Between, taking players on a journey through dangerous terrain and beautiful vistas. We also get a closer look at some new gear, including armour and weapons. Best of all, we’re given a bit more information on our purpose in this world.

“You play as a descendent of the tarnished, a group of heroes once banished from The Lands Between,” says the trailer. Legacy dungeons, which many are comparing to the Chalice dungeons from Bloodborne, are described as a “complex and intricately designed dungeon map that connects seamlessly with surrounding landscapes.”

Ahead of the game’s launch later this week, the opening video was already leaked online including Twitch gameplay from broken street dates, so be weary of spoilers on social media.

Elden Ring was first unveiled in 2019 at the Xbox E3 briefing, but went radio silent for a couple of years while From Software worked on the game. Last year, the game reappeared at Gamescom and has since received plenty of marketing.

Touted as a spiritual successor to Dark Souls and a follow-up to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Elden Ring is the first From Software game to feature a traditional open-world in The Lands Between. However, it will provide players with a deeper RPG system and plenty of options for flexible builds.

Elden Ring launches on 25 February 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out the full gameplay overview trailer below to get yourself prepared.
