Elden Ring Has Sold Over 20.5 Million Copies Since Launch

Elden Ring, the latest open-world action-RPG from Dark Souls developer From Software and publisher Bandai Namco, continues to be a huge success for the companies. According to a new report, Elden Ring has now sold over 20.5 million copies since launch, easily making it the highest-selling game in From Software’s history.

As reported by Twitter user Shinobi602, a new report from Bandai Namco reveals that Elden Ring managed to reach a new sales milestone of 20.5 million copies sold since the game’s launch early last year. That number factors in both physical and digital sales across all platforms including PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

Elden Ring released in February last year to universal acclaim, praising the game for its captivating open-world exploration, refined Souls mechanics, diversity of builds, challenging gameplay that evolved From Software’s formula and its striking presentation and art direction. The game puts players in the shoes of the Tarnished, a wanderer that enters the mystical, ruined fantasy world of The Lands Between that has been ravaged by warring kingdoms and the mysterious powerful beings that rule over existence.

Exploring The Lands Between on foot or horseback, players must venture deep into the world and uncover the secrets and mysteries surrounding the Elden Ring and what purpose it serves in the grand scheme of things. Along the way, you’ll have to fight through dangerous enemies and foes that have, in some way, been corrupted by the plague that has hit the land.

Elden Ring received the highest review scores of 2022 and managed to sweep the win for Game of the Year at The Game Awards last year. More impressively, Elden Ring also set the world record for most number of Game of the Year awards won, beating out previous record holders The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Last of Us Part II.

Elden Ring is currently available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The game’s first major expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, is currently in development.
