Elden Ring is the biggest video game launch since Call of Duty: Vanguard in the UK. According to the GSD, sales from Elden Ring are 2.5x that of Horizon Forbidden West and in line with the figures only Red Dead Redemption 2 could pull in during launch.
Elden Ring sales have now surpassed the likes of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077. GSD reports that Elden Ring has now taken the top spot in the UK charts knocking Horizon Forbidden West off the No.1 position. The report claims that Horizon Forbidden West sales have dropped 80% in light of Elden Ring’s release.

These numbers are staggering considering that 68% of all Elden Ring sales were digital. Xbox and PC were the biggest platform sales. Almost 85% of all Elden Ring sales on Xbox were digital and on PC, 73% of sales were digital. PS4 and PS5 sales saw only 50% of copies sold through the PlayStation Store meaning Sony’s console raked in a lot more physical copies than the rest.
FIFA 22 is still holding strong on the charts. However, thanks to Elden Ring, the game has been knocked down to third. Here is a look at the UK game charts. This includes both physical and digital sales.
