FromSoftware is raking in the cash and it is all well-deserved. Elden Ring is one of the greatest games around and a triumph in video game design. The action RPG has managed to ship 12 million copies around the world since its launch on 25 February.
FromSoftware reports that the game has shipped over 1 million copies in Japan and another 11 million worldwide. This makes Elden Ring the biggest new IP to release since Ubisoft’s The Division series. The 12 million units are made up of both digital and retail sales across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

In a press release, CEO and Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki says the game’s success is astonishing. Miyazaki extends his heartfelt thanks to players around the world who have picked the game up and are exploring the Lands Between.
Bandai Namco president Yasuo Miyakawa also chimed in praising fans for the support.
Co-development between FromSoftware and BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment has brought about the brand new action RPG, “ELDEN RING,” which has surpassed 12M units in sales worldwide.

I am very proud to have been involved in bringing such a wonderful and fantastic game to life with FromSoftware, under the guidance of Director Miyazaki, and with George R. R. Martin.
