Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Story Trailer

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Gets New Story Trailer

From Software and Bandai Namco Entertainment have released a new story trailer for the upcoming, highly anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring. The expansion will add to the lore of the original game, this time covering the untold story of Miquella and a kingdom ruled by Messmer The Impaler.

The story trailer for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree doesn’t give us too much information, mainly focusing on Miquella, a character who wasn’t too present in the base game outside of being a cocoon in Mohgwyn Palace. Messmer The Impaler, the main figure seen on the cover of the expansion set up to be the story’s main antagonist, is also given a bit of attention as his reign seems to be in direct conflict with Miquella’s ambitions.

The official description for Shadow of the Erdtree reads:

“The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion features an all-new story set in the Land of Shadow imbued with mystery, perilous dungeons, and new enemies, weapons and equipment. Discover uncharted territories, face formidable adversaries, and revel in the satisfying triumph of victory. Dive into the riveting interplay of characters, where drama and intrigue intertwine, that create an immersive experience to savor and enjoy.”

Playing the part of the Tarnished, it seems like players will be able to travel to the Land of Shadow and learn more about what happened to the land. Along the way, players may have to face a few foes including Messmer The Impaler himself.

The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC can be accessed in Elden Ring through Miquella’s cocoon in Mohgwyn Palace. This will require players to travel to the palace and defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood first – not an easy feat as he’s one of the tougher bosses in the game next to Malenia.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree launches on 21 June 2024 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Watch the story trailer below:
