Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree New Bosses Launch Trailer

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Patch 1.14 Nerfs Final Boss

From Software has released the new patch 1.14 for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, bringing several bug fixes and balance adjustments to the expansion. More importantly, the final boss fight of the expansion has been nerfed – something that fans expected would eventually happen after many complained of its harsh difficulty.

Before we proceed, there will be spoilers ahead discussing the final boss fight of Shadow of the Erdtree, so you have been warned. According to the patch notes for update 1.14, players will receive several PvP-exclusive balance adjustments decreasing the damage of Backhand Blades and the Spears’ dual-wield attacks. General balance adjustments include an increase to the attack speed of Colossal weapons but only for the first normal attack, it seems, while the Backhand Blade has gotten another nerf to decrease its attack speed from a crouching position.

The biggest adjustment of the patch involves the final boss, Promised Consort Radahn, who has been nerfed in a few ways. Some of Radahn’s attacks will deal decreased damage now, along with a decreased range for his non-weapon based attacks. Have a look at the changes below:

The following adjustments have been made to the final boss of Shadow of the Erdtree:

  • Changed the action pattern when the battle starts.
  • Adjusted some attack moves.
  • Decreased the damage of some attacks.
  • Decreased stamina damage of some attacks.
  • Decreased the attack range of some non-weapon-based attacks.
  • Improved the visibility of some attack effects.

We recommend reading the full patch notes right here to extensively check out all the changes, adjustments and bug fixes.

Promised Consort Radahn has been called the hardest boss ever created in From Software’s history, encouraging daring players to take on the challenge in creative ways. One player’s goldfish managed to beat the final boss (we aren’t joking). Other players have even resorted to trying to sue From Software for making Shadow of the Erdtree too difficult and “inaccessible.”

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
