We are two weeks away from the launch of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. As we edge closer to its launch, more information regarding the content has come to light. So far, we have learnt that the DLC will include over 100 new weapons to find, take 30 hours to complete and include 10 main bosses. You can read our full gameplay preview for Shadow of the Erdtree here.
If you’re wondering when you can start downloading the Elden Ring DLC and how much storage space is needed, we also have you covered.
According to PlayStation Game Size on X, Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree will go live for pre-load on 19 June just two days before the DLC launches on 21 June.
The download size for the DLC is 16.5GB and will need to be downloaded separately by visiting the game’s content page on the PlayStation Store. This means that Elden Ring will get an update on launch day to unlock the DLC, but the update won’t include the DLC files.
The same is likely said for the Xbox version which will add the DLC to the game’s “Content and Updates” page on 19 June. You’ll need to make sure the content is installed ahead of the game’s launch day patch in order to unlock it.
As for when Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree goes live. From Software hasn’t said anything about the launch times just yet. However, given the past track record of DLC launches, these files are usually unlocked by 5 PM local time here in SA.
Keep in mind that From Software might roll out a midnight launch for the DLC. We will know closer to the time.
So to round up, Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree launches on 21 June. Pre-load goes live on 19 June and the DLC pack is 16.5GB.
