Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Release Date Leaked – Report

The release date for the anticipated Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, has seemingly leaked ahead of schedule. A new report claims that fans can expect to see more of the expansion at The Game Awards this year, where it will apparently be unveiled with a release date of 5 February 2024.

Known YouTuber Ziostorm, who has a decent track record of From Software and Elden Ring leaks, recently stated on Twitter/X, “Unverified sources are telling me that Elden Ring DLC is planned to be shown at The Game Awards with a release date of February 5th, 2024. These sources have shown signs of insight, but nothing concrete. Consider this just a rumour for now.”

The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley seems to have a good relationship with From Software as the long-awaited first gameplay for Elden Ring was shown at Keighley’s Summer Game Fest event in 2021 along with a release date. Given the timing, it makes sense that From Software would want to showcase Shadow of the Erdtree at The Game Awards if its early 2024 release date is to be believed.

From Software first announced Shadow of the Erdtree earlier this year as a massive new expansion to its award-winning open-world action-RPG. Details are still very scarce on the project and we only have some key art to digest, though some believe that the expanded story content will take us into the past to witness the downfall of the lore’s once-revered heroes and the true nature behind Queen Marika.

In other news, From Software recently revealed that its 2019 action-adventure game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, passed 10 million copies sold globally, making it one of the developer’s most successful titles financially.
