Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree How to Beat Rellana Twin Moon Knight

Elden Ring Speedrunner is Giving $10,000 to Players Who Beat DLC With Restrictions

Prominent Elden Ring speedrunner Distortion2 is giving away $10,000 as a reward to players who beat the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC with some hefty restrictions. Distortion2 is a recognisable name in the Souls speedrunning community, having set a few world records in the past. This time, he’s challenging other players to complete the difficult DLC by making things a bit more inconvenient for them.

According to Distortion2’s restrictions, the $10,000 challenge is for the Rune Level 1 DLC% category. Essentially, this means that players can’t level up past Rune level 1, can only use DLC weapons and can only level up one Scadutree level for each boss killed. Players must race to slay all ten remembrance bosses and Bayle the Dread in the DLC with these restrictions in place. First place will receive $4,000 of the $10,000 while the rest will be spread across the top 10 most impressive runs down to $200 for the bottom five.

As you can imagine, completing this challenge is not going to be easy. Being Rune Level 1 the entire run, players are essentially open to being one-shot by almost every attack, including those from basic enemies, in the DLC. Additionally, the rules limits players from racing to just collect Scadutree fragments as they can now only level up once after defeating each boss.

By the time they get to the final boss, they’ll still be at a disadvantage because the challenge’s cap will be level 10 Scadutree Blessings – 10 less than the level 20 cap players can normally get in the expansion. Keep in mind, players aren’t allowed to level up their Rune Level the entire time, meaning they’ll be doing all of this with the level 1 base stats.

On the other hand, using only DLC weapons might be a blessing in disguise. There are several viable weapons in Shadow of the Erdtree that can very easily power through some of the expansion’s tougher encounters. Since the DLC has no shortage of smithing stones scattered around the Realm of Shadow, most weapons can be maxed out fairly quickly too.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. While you’re here, check out our ranking of the all the Shadow of the Erdtree remembrance bosses ranked from worst to best.
