From Software quietly updated the latest Steam database for Elden Ring. There’s been no official word as to why this was updated but the developer added a new database to the game listed as “SteamDB Unknown App 2778580”. Many speculate that this update might be in preparation for the upcoming Elden Ring: Shadow of The Erdtree DLC.
The Elden Ring: Shadow of The Erdtree DLC was announced back in 2023. From Software revealed that the studio didn’t work on any DLC for the popular game during its initial run and that the entire piece of content only kicked off development a few months after launch in 2022. This means the Elden Ring: Shadow of The Erdtree DLC was going to take a while to get done.

There’s been a lot of speculation over when this DLC would launch. Previous leaks suggest that From Software was aiming to release Shadow of the Erdtree in February. A popular PC accessory brand, Thrustmaster leaked this with a themed range of Elden Ring products last month. The accessories were marketed to launch in February alongside the Elden Ring DLC. The company also leaked that a major expansion is also headed to the game in 2025.
Currently, fans are all pointing to a release next month. At the moment, there’s no hint at all from the developer. We do have the upcoming Microsoft Developer Conference kicking off this week. Perhaps From Software will use the platform to reveal the release date? We’ll have to wait and see.
A new Elden Ring DLC package has just been added to Elden Ring within the files for the first time since launch.
I’m not saying it’s 100% Shadow of the Erdtree but… There’s a pretty good chance it is. pic.twitter.com/1j6HCVfGQo
