The South African-born technology entrepreneur has many different talents, but who would’ve thought Elon Musk raps too? Well, kind of and what he does isn’t exactly talent. And if you thought that this latest single from the CEO of Tesla Inc. is an April Fools’ joke. It’s not, and Elon Musk raps legit about the tragically killed gorilla, Harambe.

Elon Musk took to his Twitter to debut his new rap single. He released the rap single under a fictional label he called EMO G Records on Soundcloud. The song features Elon Musk rapping himself, with a lot of auto-tune and general bizarreness.

The song is entitled RIP Harambe and Elon Musk raps predominately about Harambe – the gorilla who was tragically shot to death in 2016 after a 3-year old child got into the gorilla’s enclosing at a US zoo. The gorilla was killed a day after his 17th birthday. After the tragic incident, Harambe became an internet sensation and was even named the meme of the year by Vox and People for 2016. And it seems Elon Musk hasn’t forgotten about the gorilla either.
As Elon Musk raps in his bizarre first single, he drops lines like “RIP Harambe/Sipping on some Bombay/We on our way to heaven/Amen, Amen” and “RIP Harambe/Smoking on some strong/In the gorilla zoo/And we thinking about you.” You can hear how Elon Musk raps in its full glory below.
It seems Elon Musk isn’t too serious about a career as a recording artist or record label owner, Tweeting out that he was “disappointed that my record label failed“. Oh, and he’s also changed his Twitter handle to suit his new hip hop persona. His new Twitter handle is Jung Musk.
Do you think there’s a hip hop career in Elon Musk’s future?
I love everything pop culture. Disney is my life. I was born in the same year as the Internet. I solemnly swear that I am up to no good. Togepi is my Buddy.
