Emma Stone seems to have mastered Cruella’s iconic cackle as it is one of the first things we hear in the trailer. “From the beginning, I realized I saw the world differently than everyone else,. That didn’t sit well with some people. But I wasn’t for everyone. I guess they were all scared that I’d be a psycho” says Cruella in the trailer. She continues; “But a new day brings new opportunities, and I was ready to make a statement How does the saying go? I am woman, hear me roar.”
Unlike the 101 Dalmatians, which we know Cruella from, this upcoming movie will follow Cruella through her youth as she works her way through the 1970s as a fashion designer in London. Of course, Cruella becomes obsessed with furs which leads her down the dark and fabulous path.
Cruella also stars Emma Thompson, Paul Walter, Joel Fry, and Emily Beechman. The film was originally meant to release on 23 December 2020 but was delayed to May 2021. Disney has slated the film to release in cinemas on 28 May 2021, if the COVID-19 pandemic allows it.
