Call it the biggest screw up of 2019 if you will but the ESA leaked everyone’s information to the public yesterday after its site was breached. This means that everyone and anyone that registered or attended E3 2019, had their private information made public to the world.
It was just pure negligence on part of the organization that manages E3 and the organization has admitted fault for the whole fiasco. YouTuber Sophia Narwitz clearly pointed out, the fault was due to a simple spreadsheet used on the E3 website that listed the information.
Content creators, analysts, journalists and other media who all applied to attend the event and recieved credentials were all listed on this spreadsheet that was not encrypted by any means. Someone went in and just downloaded the spreadsheet before publishing it online. Our personal information at GLITCHED is now available for everyone to view and we have seen it ourselves on certain websites.
We won’t link to these as it would just be wrong. The ESA has taken full responsibility for the leak but has no plans in place to prevent any online harassment which may come from this breach. The ESA sent us all emails stating;
More on this as it develops.
