A new trailer for Eternal Strands has been released that dives into the game’s gear, combat and some cool-looking magic. While there’s no release date for the game yet, this trailer has definitely made an impact and pushed it up on my list of most anticipated games in 2025.
The trailer touches on various mechanics in Eternal Strands but most notably, the combat. Players will use bows melee attacks and magic to fight enemies. However, the coolest spell is the ability to pick up objects and even parts of the world itself using telekinetics and hurl them at enemies.
In the trailer, we see the player grab trees, rocks and parts of a building. This all deals damage to foes. The ability to pick up these objects seemingly makes telekinetics available at all times. There are also ice and fire attacks.
Players can also traverse up buildings – think Tears of the Kingdom exploration. This will give players a greater sense of freedom when exploring the world. You can also use the same climbing abilities to scale large enemies in combat. Not to the scale of Shadow of the Colossus but cool nonetheless.
The trailer also details how the game’s day and night cycle will work. During the day, players will explore the world, and collect gear and resources. At night, they return to their base camp through a portal and refine all the items and skills. The next day, they repeat the process and hopefully, get a little further.
The game seemingly offers a tough challenge which forces players to spend a lot of time exploring and improving their character.
Eternal Strands doesn’t have a release date but Yellow Brick Games says it is expected to release in 2025 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Keep an eye out for this one. You can wishlist it so long on Steam.
