Sony has released a list of games that have been enhanced for the PS5 Pro. It’s not the full list of games as Sony says “around 50” games will be enhanced for the new system when it launches this November. The PS5 Pro aims to boost these titles to 4K at 60FPS, offering smoother frame rates with higher resolutions.
Sony released an incomplete list of games enhanced for the PS5 Pro – many of which were showcased during the technical presentation, showing side-by-side comparisons of the visuals compared to the base PS5. The list will be much larger at launch, though for the time being, we know that these titles will be boosted on the PS5 Pro.
The list of enhanced games includes:
- Alan Wake 2
- Assassin’s Creed: Shadows
- Demon’s Souls
- Dragon’s Dogma 2
- Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
- Gran Turismo 7
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
- The Crew Motorfest
- The First Descendant
- The Last of Us Part II Remastered
Sony claims that the PS5 Pro will “double the power” of the base PS5, targeting “a super smooth 60 frames per second” at 4K resolution – a feature that many assumed the base PS5 would already target, though it never reached that point.
Games that aren’t officially enhanced by the PS5 Pro will still receive upgrades via PS5 Pro Game Boost, which applies to more than 8,500 backward compatible PS4 games. While that accounts for a very large majority of PS4 games, Sony hasn’t mentioned which titles will be specifically excluded from Game Boost or what the visual and performance upgrades will be.
During the presentation, system architect Mark Cerny revealed a number of titles running on PS5 Pro with boosts to visuals and frame rates, blurring the lines between the Fidelity and Performance graphics modes. We’ll have to wait and see if Sony makes good on these promises when the PS5 Pro launches, though the reception hasn’t been entirely positive online.
