Netflix’s The Witcher debuted on Friday last week in the first season containing eight episodes but it seems that people want more Geralt and so they have returned to playing The Witcher 3. According to Steam Charts and SteamDB which are sites that track the number of players on every game listed on Steam, the game has the same number of players at the moment as Red Dead Redemption 2.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is sitting at around 30,000 people and peaked at 50,000 – the same as Red Dead Redemption 2. These numbers are not bad for a game that released almost five years ago and the fact that it does not have multiplayer is also a big deal. Games like GTA V relies on its multiplayer mode in order to rake in players and if we had to put the numbers into the modes, there are a small fraction of players in the story campaign compared to the multiplayer.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt makes for a great game to spend your time on this festive season. The game, as a whole, received multiple expansion packs as well as various free game updates and DLC. CD Projekt RED released patches to support the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X with HDR and 4K support so if you played it on the original consoles and updated to the enhanced models somewhere down the line then it will be pure eye candy to return to the series.
