Sony recently held another PlayStation State of Play showcase, this time placing an emphasis on a few Japanese studios and bookending the entire showcase with a couple of heavy-hitters (quite literally). Spanning 20 minutes, a total of 10 games were shown ranging from Tekken 8 to Project Eve‘s rebranding as Stellar Blade and even God of War Ragnarok. Here’s everything that was announced at the State of Play September 2022 livestream.
The show was kept small with many interesting reveals and updates. Bandai Namco kicked off the show with flying fists as Jin and Kazuya clashed in the first proper trailer for Tekken 8. We also got a closer look at Stellar Blade‘s story, Team Ninja’s new action-RPG Rise of the Ronin and a fresh new spin on the Yakuza series.

The show was concluded with a surprise trailer for God of War Ragnarok, which showed off more of the game’s story as well as some incredible visuals and what we’ll be up against during the apocalyptic events. This includes Kratos finally clashing with the god of thunder himself, Thor. Atreus also shoots out the sun with an arrow, tearing a rift in the sky to bring the night. We’re sold.
