Evil Dead Rise Red Band Trailer Intense

Evil Dead Rise Debuts Intense Red Band Trailer

The first trailer for Evil Dead Rise, the next entry in Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead franchise, has arrived. The latest trailer welcomes evil into a new city home away from the woods, but it still retains some of the signature scares and terrifying imagery associated with the series. As a word of caution, this is a red band trailer meaning it doesn’t hold anything back regarding showing blood, gore and some intense horror.

Evil Dead Rise follows Ellie, a mother of three children who gets possessed by the “Deadites” unleashed from an familiar evil book. It’s up to Ellie’s visiting sister, Beth, to get to the bottom of her sister’s strange ordeal and protect the kids from an invading evil. The trailer is filled with imagery involving eating glass and being stabbed with a cheese grater, so if that’s something you’re willing to see, proceed.

Bruce Campbell, the recurring star of the Evil Dead franchise, revealed that he had seen a final cut of Evil Dead Rise and called it the scariest entry yet while also teasing his involvement:

“I guess you could say I have a hand in it. I’ve seen the movie in all of its glory and, in case you’re wondering, yes, it is amazing, and yes, it is the scariest one yet.”

The Evil Dead was originally released in 1981 and was directed by Sam Raimi. A sequel, Evil Dead II, was released in 1987 followed by a third film, Army of Darkness, in 1992. A remake was released in 2013 that focused more on the horror elements of the franchise and was directed by Fede Alvarez. While Campbell starred in the original trilogy, the remake only featured a brief cameo from the actor amidst a new, younger cast. Campbell would later star in his own television show, Ash vs Evil Dead.
