Exodus BioWare Mass Effect New Gameplay Trailer

Exodus From Ex-BioWare Devs Gets New Gameplay Trailer

Exodus, the upcoming sci-fi RPG from former BioWare developers that worked on the Mass Effect franchise, has debuted a fantastic new gameplay trailer showing fans more of its third-person combat and new cutscenes to provide story context. Players will get to zip around, fight armoured bears and take on all manner of alien lifeforms.

The gameplay trailer for Exodus certainly evokes Mass Effect in a lot of ways, especially its third-person action and sci-fi setting. However, this is a brand new universe created by veterans who worked on Mass Effect. The new studio, Archetype Entertainment is led by former BioWare employee James Ohlen, who was the original Dungeon Master of the campaign that eventually led to the creation of the Baldur’s Gate franchise. He also worked on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The rest of Archetype’s team also consists of former Mass Effect talents.

The lead character, simply named the Traveler in Exodus will be voiced by Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey. There’s currently no release date for the game so we might be looking at a late 2025 or possible 2026 release for the game, which will come to PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

The description for Exodus under the latest gameplay trailer reads:

“Check out the new Exodus gameplay trailer, Exodus: The Traveler’s Creed. Join the Travelers, as they sacrifice their lives to travel through the Centauri Universe on a dangerous mission to save an isolated Awakened civilisation from enslavement by Celestials. Our service – our sacrifice – discovers worlds, seeds hope, breaks empires. We are the Travelers.”

In other news, BioWare is currently hard at work on the next entry in the Mass Effect series. The studio recently revealed that it wouldn’t be working on post-launch DLC for Dragon Age: The Veilguard as all of its efforts are now focused on Mass Effect going forward.
