Capcom has announced that Exoprimal, its upcoming dinosaur co-op action game, is getting a second open beta ahead of the game’s launch this July. The game was shown off in some length during the recent Capcom Showcase where the developer went over its various gameplay systems, combat, story and and some pre-order incentives. So far, Exoprimal is shaping up to be a decently entertaining arcade-y experience that should be fun with friends.
Capcom has confirmed its plans to host another open beta for Exoprimal from 16-18 June. The second beta will feature additional story missions that weren’t seen in the first test, along with 10 new co-op missions to tackle. The developer stated that this beta will feature various changes and balances to the game as a result of player feedback from the last beta.

The story trailer for Exoprimal took the spotlight at the recent Capcom Showcase, which was mostly void of any particularly exciting new reveals beyond updates on upcoming titles. However, fans got a chance to hear from the developers how Exoprimal‘s story will play out – a whacky adventure about time travel, dangerous AI villains, dinosaur fuel and of course, stylish exosuits used for combat.
The official description for Exoprimal provided by Capcom reads:
“The year is 2040…Sudden dinosaur outbreaks have engulfed the globe in a crisis that threatens humanity’s very existence. Yet all hope is not lost. The corporation Aibius has developed a hyper-advanced AI called Leviathan that can predict the location of future outbreaks. This technology, along with Aibius’s revolutionary powered suits, or exosuits, gives humanity a fighting chance to stem the tide of the saurian swarms. Exosuit pilots, otherwise known as exofighters, are in high demand. Take the exofighter aptitude test and join the ranks of Aibius’s heroic pilots in their fight to stave off the extinction of the human race.”
Exoprimal launches on 14 July 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The next open beta will be available on all platforms. Check out the new trailer below:
