F1 22 will feature the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship, the same hybrid cars that are used in the 2022 season, as well as F1 Sprint Races. Other changes include real-life changes to Australia, Spain, and Abu Dhabi, as well as the inaugural Miami Grand Prix at the International Autodrome.

Lee Mather who is the senior creative director for Codemasters also noted that “alongside the real-world changes, we have updated the physics to accommodate the new aero rules and re-worked the tyre model, making the handling more true to life”.

EA has also stated that there are enhanced practice options, adaptive AI, and more accessible menus designed to “get to the action quickly without the need to understand the complexities of the sport”. There are also changes to how a race day can be customised that will affect formation laps, safety car periods, and pit stops, thanks to new Immersive and Broadcast options.

F1 22 will also feature F1 Life – a new mode where players can “step into the glamourous world of Formula 1” and will be “a customisable hub to show off their collection of supercars, clothing, and accessories, earned via gameplay”.

Players who enjoyed the career mode before will rejoice as the 10-year Career mode returns, along with My Team, as well as multiplayer. There was no mention of a story mode as is typically custom with EA Sports titles which was reportedly left out due to a lack of time.

F1 fans can pre-order F1 22 now and the Championship Edition will include three days early access and a limited-time Miami-inspired content pack but only if purchased before 16 May.
