Fallout 4 is getting a dedicated “next-gen” update this month with native versions releasing for both the Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Bethesda says this upgrade is free for all current Fallout 4 owners so unlike Skyrim, you won’t need to purchase the game again to take advantage of these enhancements.
Fallout 4 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will come with two graphics modes when it launches on 25 April. This includes a Performance and Quality Mode. It also comes with various visual enhancements such as increased resolutions and texture quality.
Bethesda says both the Performance Mode and Quality Mode are playable at up to 60FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The Quality Mode is likely an uncapped frame rate.
PS4 and Xbox One owners can also look forward to a free update with further stability improvements, login and quest fixes. Furthermore, PC owners will also get a large patch for Fallout 4 with various added settings. This includes widescreen and ultra-widescreen support. Bethesda is also fixing various Creation Kit and quest bugs.
Fallout 4 is also getting brand new content packs on the same day. Three free Creation Club packs will be available for owners of the game. The Enclave Remnants, Makeshift Weapon Pack and Halloween Workshop:
