It is important to know firstly that because the content is set after the previous Steel Dawn update, all player decisions you made up to this point are carried over to the next Fallout 76: Steel Reign expansion. This means everything you did in the content that had a major impact on the story, will have its own consequences in Steel Reign. You may regret your decisions now after all.
Fallout 76: Steel Reign focuses on the Super Mutant uprising, something that was previously teased in the last update. While you will meet new characters in Steel Reign, expect to see some familiar ones too. In addition, players can explore some new areas that include West Tek, AMS HQ, and the Uncanny Caverns.
If you are a crafting addict, Fallout 76: Steel Reign is adding a range of new crafting systems into the mix. Most importantly, Legendary Crafting is headed to the game. The new system sees players gather Legendary Cores and combine them with Legendary Modules in order to craft Legendary Upgrades. It is a lot of Legendary going on here.
The new system also opens up new doors to upgrade, reroll and downgrade up to 3-star Legendary Upgrades. Players can also bask in some new Legendary Weapon attributes as well Legendary Armour and Power Armour attributes.
If you are looking for new weapons and household items, Fallout 76: Steel Reign also comes with a handful of new ones. Firstly there is the Face Breaker Power Fist and is one of the most powerful weapons in the game. There’s also a new Hellcat Power Armour and a handful of new housing items including a Cryogenic Bed and other Brotherhood of Steel items.
Fallout 76: Steel Reign won’t end with the new update. Bethesda has teased a whole new area to explore in 2022 in the form of The Pitt. This area is taken directly from Fallout 3 and marks the first time players will leave West Virginia. Sounds like the story is just beginning.
