The anticipated second season of the Fallout TV series from Amazon is currently in production, promising a new adventure set in the familiar location of New Vegas. There’s a lot of hype leading up to the show’s return, though actor Walton Goggins, who plays The Ghoul, believes that season 2 “blows the first one out of the water”.
In a recent interview with Deadline, Walton Goggins revealed that they’re still in the middle of filming Fallout season 2. “We’re in the middle of filming it right now. We’ve been at it since November, and I can tell you that I thought season 1 was extraordinary, personally I was very pleased with it,” said Goggins during the interview.
He added, “This [season 2] blows it out of the water. You know, what these writers have done and the artisans that have come together to tell this story, it’s really going to be something and I can’t wait for people to see it. We’re working really hard to make that happen.”
The Fallout TV series is set within the same canon as the video games its based on, taking place a few years after the events of Fallout 4 and over 200 years after the bombs fell. In fact, Bethesda and showrunner Jonathan Nolan believe fans could technically consider the series Fallout 5. It follows the story of vault dweller Lucy MacLean who teams up with a wandering ghoul and a Brotherhood of Steel member to search for her kidnapped father after her vault is attacked by raiders.
In related news, a leaked behind-the-scenes image for Fallout season 2 revealed a Dinky the T-Rex prop, a giant dinosaur statue that Fallout: New Vegas fans may recognise. The second season will also star Home Alone actor Macaulay Culkin in an unknown role, though it’s said he’ll be playing a “genius type character”, leading many to speculate that he might be taking on the role of antagonist and ruler of New Vegas, Robert House.
