Season 2 of the live-action Fallout series from Amazon has halted its production due to the recent raging fires that broke out across the Los Angeles county in California. Fallout isn’t the only show impacted by the ongoing fires, though, as NBC Universal delayed the filming of others shows such as Hacks, Loot, Ted, Suits: LA and Happy’s Place.
As reported by Variety, production on season 2 of Fallout has come to screeching halt, though just until this weekend. This shouldn’t cause any significant delay on the show, thankfully. Meanwhile, CBS has halted filming on NCIS, NCIS: Origins and After Midnight while Disney paused Doctor Odyssey, Grey’s Anatomy and Jimmy Kimmel Live due to the fires. Most of these shows should commence filming in the coming week.
The second season of Fallout doesn’t have a release date yet but we know where it will take place: New Vegas. In fact, actress Ella Purnell, who plays protagonist Lucy MacLean in the series, is currently playing Obsidian Entertainment’s Fallout: New Vegas to prepare for the second season. Some time will have passed since the events of the video game, so it will be interesting to learn what has become of the iconic location and its citizens since then.
Season 2 of the show has added Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin to the cast, though it’s not known which role he’ll be playing yet. Some fans have speculated that he could play an original character or take on the role of Robert House, the enigmatic ruler of New Vegas.
In related news, Bethesda’s Todd Howard says he’s aware of the demand for Fallout 5 following the live-action show but he won’t rush it. Bethesda is currently deep in the development of The Elder Scrolls 6, which we’re hoping releases before 2030 at this rate.
Fallout is currently available to watch on Prime Video.
