Even though we just had a new Crash Bandicoot game back in 2020 thanks to “It’s About Time“, Activision might be getting ready to announce a new one soon. The publisher has just sent out press kits to media in the US that contains a massive Wumpa Fruit pinata to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series.
While these press kits might look like just a form of celebration, the Twitter account has also started posting tweets hinting at a “party” taking place soon.
The latest tweet shows off Crash Bandicoot dancing next to a robot DJ. The tweet reads “that feeling you get when you hear there’s a certain party right around the corner”.

Fans have begun to speculate that the new Crash Bandicoot game might be announced during the PlayStation Showcase event tomorrow. This could be the case. Activision and Sony have always had a good relationship when it comes to new game announcements and exclusive partnerships. Last year, Sony hosted the full gameplay showcase for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time during its State of Play. Given that the PlayStation Showcase is the only major event taking place at the moment, the stream could host the announcement.
So what is this game going to be about? Well, fans speculate that the next instalment in the Crash Bandicoot series might be called the “Wumpa League“. The name comes from a video Activision released last year that saw Crash and Coco playing Uncharted and the camera zooms out to reveal a “Wumpa League” sign hidden in the distance.

We can only hope that if this Wumpa League game is real that it is a remake of Crash Bash. Then again, all of this could simply be a rumour and the press kits are being sent out to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the game.
