Fans Think Call of Duty Revealed New Lara Croft Design for Next Tomb Raider

Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider series is the next crossover character coming to Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare 2. However, since the character design was revealed for the add-on, fans think that this might be the first look at Lara’s new design for the next Tomb Raider game which aims to “unify” the iconic 90s design with the grittier modern model.

Last month, Activision revealed that it would be adding a handful of musicians to Call of Duty with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg and 21 Savage joining the games as either new Operators or skins. A separate blog post from PlayStation at the same time revealed that Lara Croft would also be coming to the games as an Operator. Activision recently posted the official design for Lara and fans believe it might be our first look at her design for the next Tomb Raider game currently in the works at Crystal Dynamics.

“If this is what Lara will look like in the next game (and I think it is, it does look like an older survivor Lara), then we absolutely won!” said one commenter on the Tomb Raider subreddit. “The dual pistols, the classic outfit, the braid, the backpack. No more bows and arrows. She’s strong and confident. She doesn’t have daddy issues,” said another commenter.

That said, some are taking it with a good heap of scepticism as the design could simply be another developer’s interpretation of Lara Croft and Crystal Dynamics’ own design might look entirely different in the next game. “Considering this is from a crossover, made by a different developer who picked Lara’s most recognizable outfit. I wouldn’t treat this version as anything conclusive or a hint for future Tomb Raider games,” said one commenter.

As for what fans can expect from the next Tomb Raider game, a report from August 2022 revealed new details about the game’s premise, including a more seasoned Lara Croft supposedly leading a group of Tomb Raiders. The game is reportedly set to be unveiled sometime this year, though plans could’ve easily changed too.
