Skydance New Media Fantastic Four Game Daredevil

Fantastic Four Might be Skydance’s New Marvel Game

Skydance New Media, the new division headed by Uncharted‘s Amy Hennig, announced last year that it had teamed up with Marvel Entertainment to work on an all-new title. New evidence seemingly points to it either being a Daredevil, Ant-Man or Fantastic Four game. However, thanks to some digging and elimination processes on Reddit, Skydance’s Marvel game might in fact be Fantastic Four.

Skydance Media announced last year that it had “assembled an accomplished crew of developers with decades of AAA experience in action and adventure gaming.” During a previous podcast of Fatman Beyond hosted by Kevin Smith, it was revealed that Marc Bernardin would serve as a writer on this mystery title. Smith quickly mentioned that the chat immediately guessed what it was, with the two most popular choices in the chat being Ant-Man and Fantastic Four.

Disney recently confirmed that Skydance’s Marvel game would feature an ensemble, meaning it’s likely Fantastic Four. Previous rumours suggested that it was a Daredevil game, though that doesn’t appear to be the case as it’s not necessarily an “ensemble” IP.

Fantastic Four would make the most sense for a few reasons. Namely, it’s one of the most requested comic book IPs that has yet to receive a proper video game adaptation beyond 2005’s (pretty awful) Fantastic Four which was based on the movie. Marvel Studios is also planning to introduce the Fantastic Four into the Marvel Cinematic Universe during Phase 6, which would skyrocket the superhero team’s popularity in the mainstream again.

It’s all a matter of timing for Skydance New Media, who are still actively working on its new AAA Marvel project.

If these rumours and leaks are to be believed, then we’ll likely be seeing the Fantastic Four return in the video game world in their own standalone adventure. As with all reports, though, take this with a grain of salt for now until we have official confirmation, which will likely come at the D23 Expo later this year.
