Ubisoft plans on announcing the next instalment in the Far Cry series next month during its Ubisoft Forward event. Far Cry 6 will apparently be set outside of the United States and according to reports, return back to the exotic setting. In addition, the game will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X as well as PC.

These are still rumours so take this news with a pinch of salt. However, it is not the first time we have heard about the game’s development. According to Gamereactor, Ubisoft will reveal Far Cry 6 during the event in early July. The game is currently planned for an April 2021 release date but COVID-19 factors could delay it.
Those of you who did not enjoy the North America setting in the last game will have something to look forward to. Rumours claim Far Cry 6 will be set in an exotic location and will return the series back to its roots.
Far Cry 5 released back in early 2018 to much praise. Its antagonist Joseph Seed and his cult of fanatics brought some new life into the series. Ubisoft released New Dawn the following year as a smaller spinoff title. It is about time we have a new entry in the series set in a new country to explore.
We just have to wait and see what happens on 12 July 2020 when Ubisoft hosts its Forward event.
