Far Cry New Dawn Goes Gold – Ubisoft Shares “Light-RPG” Features

Far Cry New Dawn is a month away so it comes as no surprise that it has gone gold. The game releases on 15 February 2019 and we are pretty amped to see it. Technical Director, Raphaël Parent announced on his Twitter account that the game has gone gold ahead of its release next month. He also revealed that the development time for the game as a mere 10 months which is a surprising time for a game of this size.

At the same time, Ubisoft released a new Q&A feature detailing the game’s “light RPG mechanics”. This compiles of a series of in-game mechanics that add layers to the experience. One of them is a weapon system that lets the player craft specific guns with ranks and these ranks are then used to defeat enemies at higher ranks. This means that you would need to gather the right materials to make powerful weapons in order prepare for a specific showdown between a specific group of enemies.


The Home Base also acts as a major feature in the game. It is here where you will need to invest in improving it and unlocking new features of it that include weapon stations and other gear. Lastly, Ubisoft revealed that an outpost, once cleared of enemies can be looted but you can “squeeze” extra loot from it if you choose to. However, once you do that the outpost is vacant so enemies can easily return and take it back.
