Fast and Furious Will Finally End… After Another Two Films

The Fast and Furious movie series is coming to an end but you will have to endure another two films before it does. Well, three actually if you count the upcoming F9 one. Variety reports that the ‘popular’ once-racing-but-now-all-about-action movie series is set to receive a tenth and eleventh film before calling it quits. In addition, Justin Lin, who directed the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and ninth Fast and Furious films is set to direct the last two.

Don’t get your hopes up just yet. This does not mean the franchise is done and dusted forever. It means the Dominic Toretto, (played by Vin Diesel) storyline is coming to an end. The movie series can pick with new characters at another point in time after it wraps up in the future. In addition, spinoff movies are currently in development which follows the stories of the main cast from the series. The first of which was Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. There are more to come.

The latest film in the main ‘ Fast & Furious’ series, F9 was originally set to release this year. However, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic caused major delays in production. The movie is set to launch in 2021 after suffering almost a full year delay.

We don’t know when F10 and F11 will release. If history shows anything, the films release two years apart. Hopefully, by the end of 2025, there will be no more Fast & Furious films? We can only hope.
