FIFA is confident that its new football franchise, which marks the first independent soccer game since its fallout with EA Games, will be superior to its previous series. FIFA has been working on its new football game for a few years now and plans to announce it in July this year. We don’t know when it will release but FIFA will likely aim to launch the game in late 2024 to align it with EA’s reported EA Sports FC project.
To catch you up, FIFA and EA had quite a nasty fallout last year when the two companies decided to part ways. EA had the license to produce FIFA video games for nearly 30 years but announced in 2022 that it would work on a new independent series called EA Sports FC.

FIFA president Gianna Infantino believes that whatever the organization is working on to rival EA Sports FC, will be superior to EA Game’s new football project. During Infantino’s unopposed re-election speech, the president confirmed that the FIFA association would be launching a video game to rival EA Sports FC. He said:
“The new FIFA game – the FIFA 25, 26, 27 and so on – will always be the best e-game for any girl or boy. We will have news on this very soon.”
The mention of ‘FIFA 25′ in his speech gives us an idea that FIFA will likely skip a game launch this year and instead focus on developing this new video game for 2024. We also know that EA Games is aiming for its new football game launch next year too. By the look of things, 2024 is going to be the football game showdown.
It will be interesting to see where FIFA takes the series without EA Games on board. Not only did EA have the developers for the project but the company also piggybacked off its in-house engines for the majority of the FIFA series.
