Square Enix decided not to wait until their E3 Press Conference which takes place on 11 June at 03:00 SA Time to reveal the Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date to the world. During a concert dedicated to the iconic franchise, Square Enix revealed the Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date as 3 March 2020.

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake will release on the PS4 and at the time of writing, we are not sure if it will be the full game or the first episode, as the remake was mentioned to use an episodic format. We will have to wait until Square Enix’s E3 Press Conference for more details.
The game’s director, Tetsuya Nomura, made this much clear in a tweet shortly after the release date announcement.

For those who don’t know, The Final Fantasy 7 Remake won’t use a turn-based battle system but instead an active battle system, departing from the original. It will be interesting to see how that move turns out, but for now, we can mark those calendars for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake on 3 March 2020 and that’s good enough for me.
