At the Summer Game Fest, Square Enix showcased a brand new trailer for the second part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy – Rebirth. Many were hoping the game would release by the end of 2023 but it has been pushed into early 2024. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth currently doesn’t have a release date but early 2024 could mean December 2023 to March next year.
In the trailer, we get a good look at the game’s state. There is a lot of open-world exploration, loads of story sequences, boss fights, combat showcasing new playable characters and much more.

Square Enix has also confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a PS5 exclusive and for some reason, mentioned the game releasing on two discs. Perhaps the studio wants people to know how big the sequel is.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is also the second game in a trilogy currently in the works at Square Enix. The studio plans to retell the entire events of the original PlayStation game across another release after Rebirth. This game takes place five years after the events of the original Remake.
The studio promises to share new details on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth including the release date in the near future. In the meantime, catch up on the latest trailer below.
