Final Fantasy VII Rebirth State of Play – When and Where to Watch

PlayStation will host another State of Play event, this time exclusively focused on Square Enix’s upcoming RPG, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. PlayStation didn’t make clear how long it will run for but you can expect a pretty lengthy deep dive into one of the year’s most anticipated gaming releases. Here’s when and where you can watch the upcoming State of Play and some of our speculation about what to expect.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second part in a planned trilogy of remakes that encompass the original Final Fantasy VII. Following the events of 2020’s Final Fantasy VII Remake, Cloud and company find themselves journeying beyond the walls of Midgar and into new regions as they go on the hunt for the one-winged angel, Sephiroth. Rebirth will adapt a sizeable chunk of the original game’s story after Midgar, right up until The Forgotten Capital which is a huge turning point in the story.

When and Where to Watch Final Fantasy VII Rebirth State of Play

When to Watch

Viewers can tune into the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth State of Play at 01:30 CAT (tomorrow morning, 7 February) or on Tuesday (today) at 6:30 PM ET / 3:30 PM ET / 11:30 PM GMT. It’s another really late showcase but I’m sure die-hard fans in South Africa wouldn’t mind staying up to catch all the action.

Where to Watch

As for where you can watch the State of Play, head over to the official PlayStation YouTube channel or official PlayStation Twitch channel. Alternatively, we’ve also embedded the livestream below which is currently counting down to the event.

We’ve already seen quite a bit from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth thanks to all the released trailers, though we’re certain there might be more surprises in store for us tonight. Hopefully, we get to see some real-time gameplay and a section of the game to give us a better idea of how combat and exploration will work. Thanks to a leaked listing, it seems like a free PS5 demo will also be made available after the show that apparently will let you play as both Cloud and Sephiroth.

Don’t miss the next State of Play if you’re looking forward to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The game officially launches on 29 February 2024 exclusively for PS5.
