Final Fantasy XVI PS5 Bundle, Limited Edition DualSense and Console Cover Revealed

Final Fantasy XVI is one of the most anticipated upcoming PS5 games of the year. The action-RPG from Square Enix recently got a lengthy, dedicated State of Play event that offered a deep dive into the game’s combat, exploration, Eikon battles and more. Those looking to pre-order the PS5 console bundle of Final Fantasy XVI ahead of launch can do so next week but it will only include a download code for the game. Additionally, players can also purchase a limited edition DualSense controller and a console cover.

As detailed by Twitter user Wario64, the PS5 Final Fantasy XVI bundle will be available for pre-order starting on 4 May 2023 which is next week Thursday – over a month ahead of the game’s launch in June. Buyers will receive the bundle on 22 June when the game releases. Sadly, the bundle will not include a physical copy of Final Fantasy XVI. Instead, it will come packaged with a code for users to digitally download the game.

At the moment, North American buyers will be able to purchase the bundle from PlayStation Direct on 4 May, though we don’t have confirmation yet if it will be available in local retail stores. Those hoping for a special Final Fantasy XVI themed PS5 might also want to adjust their expectations as the bundle only contains a regular PS5 console (similar to the bundle for God of War Ragnarok) with some promotional material on the packaging.

However, you’ll be able to separately purchase a limited edition themed DualSense controller as well as a console cover to complete the set. Have a look at them below:

In related news, Square Enix previously detailed Final Fantasy XVI‘s Performance and Quality graphical modes for PS5. Performance offers 60FPS at 1440p while Quality mode will hit 4K (2160p) resolution but with lower framerates.

Final Fantasy XVI launches on 22 June 2023 for PS5. We’ll keep you updated on the availability and pricing of these items in South Africa.
