Sony has announced another game headed to its now-delayed PlayStation VR2 hardware. Firewall Ultra is coming to PS VR2 sometime in the future and acts as a direct sequel to the popular PS VR game, Firewall Zero Hour.
The game is being developed by the same team behind the original game, First Contact Entertainment. The studio says they have used the power of PS5 and the new PS VR2 hardware to deliver a. new immersion shooter experience that will fully make use of all the cool features on the virtual reality platform.

Firewall Ultra is set five years after the original game. First Contact Entertainment says that everything from the first game has evolved from the contractors to the locations players will explore in the shooter. The team have completely rebuilt most of the assets in Firewall Ultra as well as overhauled the maps, textures and weapons. Players can also expect a deeper level of customization when it comes to setting up their classes and loadout.
We’ve been listening to our community over the past four years, and we’re proud to announce that you’ll be playing Firewall Ultra on dedicated servers. We’re also adding rounds to the game, so each match will now be the best of three, and we’re adding an entirely new PvE experience. Plus, we have future content planned post-launch such as new contractors, maps, and weapons.
When it comes to the use of the PS VR2 technology, the game will feature eye tracking which allows players to quickly swap weapons and bring up HUD indicators through the cameras on the headset. We can also expect the game to make full use of the controllers as they help players get immersed into the shooter through haptic feedback and other features.
Finally, we’d like to thank all our wonderful community members. From meetups to international tournaments, the community for Firewall Zero Hour far surpassed any of our expectations. For many, Firewall Zero Hour is much more than just a game. It’s a virtual family get together, it’s a place to make new friends, or it’s an escape to another world from the comfort of their own living room. Many of our players have been with us since launch, they’re extremely helpful to new players, and create some of the best content we’ve ever seen (which we actually play in a constant loop on our lunchroom television). It’s been a pleasure watching you all grow and evolve, and we’re excited to bring you a new experience with Firewall Ultra.
