In case you didn’t know, Ubisoft is reportedly working on a new direction for the Assassin’s Creed series. Dubbed “Assassin’s Creed Infinity” the new game is set to be a live-service project that spans multiple Assassin timelines and characters. The project will also expand as the years go by with new content, missions and chapters. The first details of the game have leaked online through a source over on 4Chan.
Keep in mind that 4Chan isn’t the most reliable source around so take this with a pinch of salt for now. So far from what we have heard about the project, these new leaked details kind of make sense.

The Assassin’s Creed Infinity leak says that Ubisoft originally began the development of the game back in 2019. It is currently under the codename “Titans“. Originally, the game was meant to be a standalone IP using a new fantasy theme and setting. However, the concept was then altered and reshaped to fit into the Assassin’s Creed series.
The main story in Assassin’s Creed Infinity focuses on a special group of assassins. They are tasked to travel through time to both historical and fantasy locations to hunt down mythical creatures. The main goal is to find something called the “ultimate beast”.
While the story is still a mystery, this new fantasy direction isn’t very different from what we have seen in past Ubisoft games. Both Origins and Odyssey included a heavy fantasy theme and even dedicated DLC focusing on mythological story chapters.
The leak suggests that Assassin’s Creed Infinity will include a main social hub where players can purchase new gear from vendors, pick up quests and warp through time to different locations. Once they arrive in these new locations, players are greeted to larger open-world hubs that include exploration areas, puzzles, treasures, monsters and even NPCs and side quests to complete.
The leak claims that some areas are inspired by previous Assassin’s Creed games. Some areas even have assets taken from past games. By the sound of things, Ubisoft is building an ultimate Assassin’s Creed universe.
Players will progress through Assassin’s Creed Infinity by completing quests, killing monsters and crafting gear. There’s also a skill tree and level system but we don’t know how that works yet. The leak also says there’s a large endgame grind to the game too but that is still in early development.
As I mentioned before, this is all still a rumour so take it as it comes for now.
