A few months ago we reported on the discovery of a PS5 Dev Kit that looked like a giant “V”. The patent seemed to point to the possibility of the hardware being real and in developer’s hands as they began creating new games for the next-gen PlayStation 5 console. Well, it seems the diagram was as real as possible as the first photo of the PS5 Dev Kit has leaked revealing the exact design of the unit.

The photo was sent to YouTuber ZONEofTECH and shows off the front of the unit including all the ports and buttons. The PS5 Dev Kit bears the same design as the patent and is a one-for-one copy of the hardware. The vents, the ports and the V-shaped design are the same as the previously-leaked console.
It is a pity we don’t get a look at the backside of the console but the photo is enough to get a glimpse of the dev kit. Again, this is just the dev kit and Sony will most likely not use the same design for the retail unit of the device. If they do, it will be a slimmer and more consumer-friendly version of it. We will have to wait and see what Sony announces next year.
